the public school system that cranks them out.

In the late 1860’s and 1870’s the American Stock Saddle had evolved to this form, with the 1/2 seat, square skirts, exposed Sam Stagg riggin, and Dog House stirrups. This is my personal choice in saddles. To me it represents the truest spirit of the Old West, both form and in function. In order to have this be an accurate re-creation of the era, I have, over the last ten years researched, studied, and worked to develope the appropriate tree. I have used books, museums, catalogs, time in the wood shop, time in the saddle. And so....in memory of Mr. Bill Long.... and many, many thanks to Francis Bowden at Ritter Saddle Tree Company for his help, and his time.....
It pleases me no end to present the H.Y.A. Slick Fork saddle tree.
Built on SemiQuarter Horse Arizona bars, with a 6 1/2’’ x 8 1/4’’ Gullet, 5’’ Round bevel edge cantle w/ 1’’ dish, and a 3 1/4’’ duckbill horn. Available seat size 14’’ to 16’’ in 1/2’’ increments.
I DO NOT SELL TREES, Please call Bowden saddle tree.

Being handicapped, I was limited to short rides, but with this saddle
I can ride all day long, day in and day out....Jeff Poppe, Cove OR
